mac is correct...........also it is sent to and addressed to the issuing sheriff.

624.714
Subd. 7a. Change of address; loss or destruction of permit.
(a) Within 30 days after changing permanent address, or within 30 days of having lost or destroyed the permit card, the permit holder must notify the issuing sheriff of the change, loss, or destruction. Failure to provide notification as required by this subdivision is a petty misdemeanor. The fine for a first offense must not exceed $25. Notwithstanding section 609.531, a firearm carried in violation of this paragraph is not subject to forfeiture.
(b) After notice is given under paragraph (a), a permit holder may obtain a replacement permit card by paying $10 to the sheriff. The request for a replacement permit card must be made on an official, standardized application adopted for this purpose under section 624.7151, and, except in the case of an address change, must include a notarized statement that the permit card has been lost or destroyed.

If you live in Ramsey County, you may get a snotty letter back telling you to either come in and PAY to get a new card or surrender your old one "if you no longer require it."

After a good laugh, I ignored the one they sent me.

Cool, you have acknowledgment that the Sheriff received your notification.

If you intend to use the P2C as a Permit to Purchase, I would suggest that you look at getting a new one so the address matches your new address. It may reduce any problems then. Also during any encounter with an officer who may not be up on all the permit laws if the address does not match your new driver's license.

Although not required, it may be worth the effort / cost.

Notification letter is all that is required.

I just switched mine - could have mailed that puppy in - BUT i wanted a new card reflecting new address for use as PTP as well. So it was worth the $10 and the drive to Minneapolis to get that done -

If you move remember you have to go to DMV First and the Sheriff needs a copy of your yellow sheet reflecting your new address - they kept my permit card and issued me a temporary copy with my reciept for payment of the switch - still a 30-day wait for the new card.
REMEMBER THE BRAVE 343 - WE WILL NEVER FORGET FDNY
