What RSS feed readers do you use?

Postby rucker on Mon Feb 11, 2008 7:19 pm

In the next week or two I will be testing out RSS feeds on the forum. If this is something you think you might use please let me know what reader you use. If possible I will test with your reader.

As far as I can tell you are using FireFox... You know the BBC News bookmark (it is installed by default) that automatically updates with the latest stories? That is RSS.

If you have deleted that or have no idea what I am talking about then here is the wikipedia description:
An RSS document, which is called a "feed," "web feed," or "channel," contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that's easier than checking them manually.

Apple Safari 3.0.4, and Apple Mail 3.1, running under Mac OS X 10.5.1. The reader within Mail app works great for my daily infodosage without having to hit the link in Safari. :ugeek:

I use Yahoo, but I don't see the point of using an RSS feed on a forum. It moves too fast to keep up.

It would save me circumventing filters just to read. Then it'd just be to post :-)

OK, thanks everybody.

There isn't much reason that it wouldn't work on any reader but I might as well test with what people use. To be honest I don't use RSS myself so I want to be able to answer basic questions and also some readers, Google's in particular, do need some extra configuration to work properly.
