Dump Norton. It is a system hog and easily corrupted. After you've removed it go here: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus- ... d=10834624 and Dl AVG 8.0 free.

Killing Norton is kind of a trick though. When I just used its uninstall feature it still plagued my computer. I had to use explorer to take down some of its left over files to leave me alone and quit asking me why I turned it off.

You probably have parental controls enabled and it is blocking gun out of the web address. So tweaking the settings should get you the desired outcome.

As far as it goes keep it as it is a very good firewall and antivirus combo just needs some tweaking in the settings. I have used nortons for years as the one thing they have over everyone else is that it is not Free :o Free sounds good and free stuff gets good reviews, but with free it is real easy to take the program apart etc etc and create viruses etc aimed at the free software. There are a lot of peeps out there who enjoy taking programs apart and playing with them ;) And you would be amazed once you are in the right network the things you can learn :o

Is it just Norton Antivirus or Norton Internet Security. Norton Internet Security is the spawn of Satan. I will test it out and see what happens.

Also, what do you mean by "not come up"? Do you have the "Norton Add-on Pack" installed? Is it giving you a message similar to the following:

Site Blocked

Norton Add-on Pack has blocked access to this Web site because it matches the whatever category for blocked Web sites.

Norton is a Bloated resource hog I-want-to-do-everything bit of crap.

I'm not a big fan of AVG either. Especially after having it completely hose a friends system. It had worked fine for months, then one day things stopped working right. AfterI played around with the system I tried removing AVG and all the problems went away. I'm not sure what went wrong, solar flares flipped a bit on the drive or something. But whatever the reason, AVG wasn't welcome to reside on her drive anymore. So i installed Clamwin.

http://www.clamwin.org free, open source, well maintained, frequent updates. And an incredibly small footprint and control over what and how it scans.
