This is a warning regarding the following post made by you: viewtopic.php?f=6&p=43266#p43266 .

Personal Attack

You are right jac455. It was personal. No apology necessary. Okay, let me put it this way instead (oh, I know how badly you want to shut me up right now!) :)

Confucius say: Do not impose on others what you yourself do not desire.

I have absolutely no idea waht you are talking about.

private message from jac455 wrote:Interesting screed.

Sorry you feel you are above the rules, I had nothing to do with the decision to change the edit policies, but it would not fit your agenda to slam on people attempting to do what they are asked.

I did not warn you for the duplicate account, I should have, I did warn you for the personal attack.

Rucker asked the mods to enforce the rules, we are doing so, if you don't like it start your own forum. Any further attacks will result in time out.

Your choice.

Your point here?

Why thank you but it is jac455, not 714.

JohninMinnesota wrote:Board members- so you understand: The reason the ability to edit your post changed (me thinks) was that I decided to elimidate myself and my posts in protest of having my nose rubbed in the fact that I "broke rule #5" and so the "Moderator" decided to show me a lesson and put that post into mine.

Well I don't know which of the mods you are talking about, it was actually the admin who made that decision, to the best of my knowledge the mods had nothing to do with it. I don't see where I your "...nose (was) rubbed into anything, I simply banned the account and gave you credit for your words.

JohninMinnesota wrote:I was so malicious as to register as b.hussein.oblama (using johninminnesota@mydomain to make sure to let those in charge know that IT WAS ME) to have a little fun, make a few laughs and some political points. I DESERVED MORE THAN A SLAP ON THE WRIST WOULDN'T YOU SAY? God, I hate facists, regardless of where they reside. OOPS. I must have broke the hate speech rule.

Simple, no duplicate acounts, long standing policy, not mine but one of the rules I was asked to enforce.

JohninMinnesota wrote:jac455 - your overzealous moderation of illicit and illegal posts like mine are exactly what this place needs to keep it from becoming too interesting or fun. Keep up the great work!

This statement is ludricous on its face, your are deriding me for dealing with "... illicit and illegal posts like mine..." which is one of the main functions of a moderator.

JohninMinnesota wrote:I do apologize for pushing Rucker into a corner with the edit my posts thing. I didn't want that - If I could have just hit "delete my account" button and been done, I would have done that instead... but I couldn't and decided that removing my posts was my only option. Sorry for that - editing a post like "SOLD" shouldn't be a Moderated requirement, and had I known that might be the outcome of my little tantrum, I wouldn't have done what I did.

Does anyone give a crap if I remove my posts from the board? Who goes back and looks anyway? What have I said that was meaningful enough to make sure it stayed here?

Probably a better way to deal with this would be to simply ask Rucker to change the policy rather than throwing a temper tantrum.

Moderators are all Cyborgs... you need to download the latest from cyborgupdate.oblamawillsoonbeheretosaveyou.gov

Moderators - a piece of advice from Mr. Know-It-All: Don't **** with people's accounts. They are not yours. They belong to the owner.

I've asked Rucker to deal with this in private messages... but your overzealous moderation makes me unable to resist egaging in this debate about overmoderation - in public - AGAIN! And, no, I LIKE TEMPER TANTRUMS! They are fun, and once I get going, I just eat em up :)

Was it in the "rules" to learn me a lesson by molesting my JohninMinnesota account? I must have missed that part.

I molested nothing, I simply gave you credit for your own words. Sorry you see asking someone to own up to their own statements as molestation.

This is the true beauty of the Internet - dictators can't dictate and so self destruct.

Again I don't understand what you are talking about, I am one of three mods who work for Rucker, Rucker can override anything I do and if one of the others asked me to reconsider somethig I very probably would. I have no dictatorial powers here. BTW this could easily be construed as a personal attack.

N.B. Original Board warning removed to comply with 3 embedded quote rule.

So, we are all being punished by not being able to edit our own posts because John was acting like a dumbhead?

Probably not the intent, but that's what it feels like.

What we have here is... a failure to communicate. You are abusing your power jac455. IMHO

Being new, I hate to say this... but John would probably be offended by your comment Dean, and that would be a personal attack.

If that's a personal attack, my kids have been scarred for life. :D

Thanks for giving us back the pow-ah to edit ourselves.

No, you were NOT given the power to edit. Your ability to edit is set up systemwide with a time limit. I don't know what the limit is...minutes I suspect. Once that time frame ends, you CANNOT edit your posts.

Mike....this is a terrible decision. Please change it asap.

Mike is gone for the weekend, I am sure when he gets back he will either change it back or explain why he won't.

I am pretty sure it will be the former.
