I agree with you guys that we have to be vigilant for people that just sign up at the site to sell their stuff . I've got burned at eBay not long time ago and I should have checked before hand that the member was very recent . It fooled me because his rating was 99% . I think we should be careful and play on the safe side especially with new members ( I'm a new member myself ) . Anyway my 0.02.

What about that nighthawk that was missing the extra 2 on its pricetag in the store over last summer, would i really have got it for $225, because as a prospective buyer, it wasn't my fault, it was yours ;)

Yes, you would have really got it. Or something very much like the Nighthawk, but made in Brazil

Hey, careful boss, some of us really like those "Or something very much like the Nighthawk, but made in Brazil" guns...

Here's another angle to consider.

I have sold at least two guns here to guys who have never before posted, previous to their contacting me through PM's. I bet there are a good number of folks who read this forum, but who seldom and maybe never post. I read the M1911 forum at least twice a week, but post over there only occasionally.

Please, no rules. it's really simple to deal with this. If you don't like newbies that join only to post an ad, then don't respond. If you don't like someone posting $xxx O.B.O., then don't respond. If you don't someone posting an ad in an auction type format, then don't respond. If you get screwed out of a deal because they raised their price, then post about it under their ad so we can find out what kind of person we're dealing with.

The more ads posted, the more chance I'll find something I want at a price I want. if I'm uncomfortable with the poster, or the ad, well....I'm a big boy, I can figure out what I should do, or not do. If this guy who raises his prices sells more stuff, I'll know from previous posts that he may want more than he originally asks for and I make my own decision on how I should proceed.

Play on.

This is by far and above the best policy. Having a post limit on sections will end up with guys just posting "+1" and "I agree" to old posts until they get their threshold. We tried it on the board I mod and it sucked having to go back and delete all the stupid replies. Don't make things harder than they have to be. Free Market system, choose what you want to reply to, if someone screws you let it be known.
Crazy that anyone would intentionally try and screw you though, considering the overall topic of the board...

Yep, you're right. My post wasn't making reference to anything in particular, I was simply making a statement. :) Care to fill us in on your recent experience?

I am only part of the story, so I will not. PFCLEE will be out of the country shortly. If he chooses to share his story that's fine with me. Otherwise it's none of your business as far as I'm concerned.

As I said before, I knew him before he came to this board. I recommended he come here.

Whatever. I was thinking that you might have something constructive to add to the conversation about your experience for better or for worse, not asking you to sling mud, or divulge personal informaiton about somebody else.
