When freewheeling unliscensed dealers sell volumes of unregistered handguns to the public with no 4473, b.g check, permit to purchase/carry and free of sales tax, there could be an issue.

That's why most of the firearms listed here by sellers typically require a FTF (face to face) transaction and only sell if the buyer has a purchase or carry permit. Look back at some of the postings. Most buyers will also not buy without seeing ID from the seller and both parties generally capture the ID info of the other. To do anything different would be foolish. :)

Totally agree! I obtain copy driver's, copy carry permit, buyer's addy, make a bill of sale and sign off responsibilty/impact of misuse statement in ink. I Record serial number, model and caliber/etc. I hold the standards high on FTF sale, never sell by mail/UPS/or "contact person". So far, I do not pay the +/-29.95$ to run national criminal b.g. check. I would only hope that the DEA/INS/ATF/BCA could run a crimcheck, but I have not approached them. Also, if the buyer creeps me out, I'm outta here.

Would you post a clean version of your bill of sale in the reference section for folks to look at and possibly utilize?

Hey everyone how's it going. I am new here but have been lurking for a while. Could I also get a copy of someone's bill of sale? (The one I use doesn't have any misuse statement on it and doesn't look very nice.)
I am trying to sell a revolver and was approached by someone that wanted to buy with only a DL. I told him no permit, no gun. I think he was kind of offended and said he was off to Gander to buy something.
Thanks in advance.

Let him be offended. If you are not comfortable with the sale, wait for the next buyer............. this is a firearm, not a used toaster, besides Gander won't sell to him without a permit either.

Unless it's most long guns. As a private seller I would ask for a permit to sell any gun no exceptions. If they dont like that they can go to Gander and pay over retail for guns.

Thanks for the clarification justaknitpicker, I assumed that since the guy was looking to buy a revolver from our new member, that he would look for a revolver at Gander.
