Try it out in Google Maps if you want to see where you will be placed.

Right in front of the Masonic lodge. I can live with that.

They have me located right in the Blue Earth County Library.

Only about 6 or 7 miles off, but close enough for what the forum needs to know. :D

Pick me up something new to read, while you're there! That's only maybe two miles from me. On a side note, I'm glad my location was able to be changed from my specific addy to "Mankato". It was just a little creepy to be able to click the map and have it give ultra clear directions to my front door....

Shippy I couldn't find you on the map. I was wondering where "Gettin' all up in it..." is at.

Today it dawned on my that I can use some Google maps and API to do the job.
About 1/2 through the project, I discovered that someone else has done the heavy lifting for me.

I set it up.. There's 2 stages:
Fill in your info here... Just the username and location. Can be your address if you wish, or just the city and state. Zip code works as well.

It can take a few mins to an hour for the map to update.

The map looks suspiciously evenly distributed....Thought this might be the result of people putting in approximate addresses, the fact that the resolution is still pretty fine doing this still makes me wonder...

If this is not an artifact, then this might say something more potent about the forum members, and gun owners in general.

Being almost uniformly distributed in the Cities area says that gun ownership is independent of whatever demographic the city might be organized by.

For instance...if there are city areas of high affluency and low affluency, then this map shows that gun ownership ignores that. If education can be shown to be concentrated in a particular area, then again, gun ownership ignores that.....

Small sample, but Interesting....our elected officials might want to see this...

Snowgun... Many of the pins overlaps because people are just putting in cities, but you are right there is a good spread
