Yup. He calls it a "pipewrench".
If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.

Does anyone have a hand guard removal tool that i can borrow or help me switch out hand guards on my AR.

Rob

Since it seems you are not getting any valid answers except from selurcspi, I also have one of the tools that aid in the removal of your hand guards. I am in the metro a couple times a week at the HCMC, Fairview and the MNVA area, so let me know if you are in one of those areas or south west of them and we can meet up.

Maybe best to contact me through here - http://www.rivervalleytraining.com/

That's BS cobb...................
I have built, repaired, and rebuilt north of 50 AR's and never owned a hand guard removal tool....
yes, most of the times I just use my hands and that is a valid answer,
and IF it is really tough or I have a hang over or just feeling wimpy, I just use the SO's jar opener as pictured and another valid answer,
or if the SO is home I just use the handle end of channel locks....another valid answer.......

so don't boo hoo for this poor newbie, he has valid responses and could do it if he wanted too.................. :P :P :P

I'll second what's been said above - not even the shiny new guns I've cleaned ever needed mechanical assistance to get the guards off. It might take a helper to pull the plastic while you tug the delta ring, but you don't need any funky hardware to do it.

He asked to borrow the tool to remove his hand guards, not a pipe wrench or be prodded. In several post, I only noticed an offer by selurcspi offered, and a suggestion by strad on how to make one instead of buying or borrowing.
