Sig Holsters?

Postby mn_smokeater on Tue Oct 26, 2010 6:01 pm

I have a Sig P6 aka P225 and iv been looking to get a better holster and so far iv got 3 that work but leaves more to be desired:

Uncle Mikes nylon snap top holster for range shooting

Fobus Paddle holster, i am not comfortable with it as far as retention goes it does not seem to be as held in as it should be.

Nylon soft stuff inside IWB holster that works but unholstering is a pain and id like more then one clip to hold it to my belt.

if anyone has anything that would fit my Sig id love to try it regardless of style or OWB/IWBedness.

im a lefty too so that will play a bit in finding that right holster(s) for me.

also so i dont need to make another thread..
who in state makes holsters as id much rather see my money there VS out of state.

Thanks Guys!

well so my forum Fu sucks... i had talked to him ages ago and he at that time had a "The slide"

i think i will go with that for my OWB needs.

whats a good IWB for having to case up the gun for work.
Currently i just case up it and leave the holster on as its a pain to put back on and adjust my belt accordingly so id like one that i could take off the whole gun/holster combo and case it or a holster thats comfortable without the gun in it and easy to get it back in.

i cannot carry at work and some shifts are just 3 hours so its a bit of a pain to switch modes and deep cover is also a no for my job.

Here's a link to the holster page on his website. There's lots more than just "The Slide" -- various OWB & IWB. Also pocket holsters, though I doubt that's an option you're interested in for a Sig. ;)

I have several variations of "The Slide" from srigs for OWB and am happy with them.

I also have his IWB holster in a few different variations and am quite happy with those. Plus he's local - so I'd start there ;-)

My favorite IWB holster is a milt sparks vm-2 -- but you'll wait six or more months for one...

Scott from Big River Leather has done a ton of really nice SIG holsters. He's got many SIG holsters in hand as demos if you wanted to try one on b/4 you commit to anything, very nice guy, he's out of Prescott WI.

I have had two "double snap" IWB holsters from Srigs, you can easily remove and replace the holster without removing the belt.
If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.

It sounds like you've settled in on OWB, but I do have an IWB in stock, just like this one. My stitch lines are a little imperfect not matching the outline of the gun perfectly around the trigger guard so I kept it and made another, I can put whatever size belt loops on it for you and send it to you to try it out it you'd like.

Otherwise, I can dig through my pile of cutouts that I have and see if there is something I can whip together for you to try out in an OWB.
