N size batteries

Postby DeanC on Fri May 27, 2011 9:17 am

Does anybody have any "N" size batteries? I need four of them to test if something works. I have an old calculator I want to sell on Ebay and I want to know if it works before I list it. Don't need to keep the batteries, I just want to borrow them for 5 minutes.

I don't have any but when I needed some last year they where less than $3 a pair at office depot if that helps.

Why, are they bigger than normal size batteries?

It's an HP-41CX in the original box with manuals and the financial module. It's worth a lot to collectors if it still works.

The interweb says they are 1.5 volts, I would think you could tape some wire to a simliar voltage battery and use that.

It probably would, but I want to verify it works using it as originally designed which will be very important to a collector.

I still use a 12C occasionally.

I still labor under the illusion that I am going to finish the CFA program.

That's the one I used most of my engineering career. I don't have the financial module but I do have the magnetic card reader. All original boxes and manuals too. If I remember a couple of the segments of the display don't work any more.

Great calculator!

I use a HP 48 GX now, I liked the HP 41 better but it couldn't do as much.
