IWB for Officer 1911

Postby JJ on Tue Jun 26, 2012 2:38 pm

So I just picked up one of these for my birthday (THANKS TUTZ!)

I've never carried a gun that size IWB, and am looking to try a couple different holsters, before committing to buying anything.

Anyone want to meetup at the range and let me try theirs out?

I know someone has a holster drawer with a couple different options that is willing to meetup on a weekday morning, or weekend. My rance (Cambridge) or yours.

Might end up shooting some free ammo :D

That is an Officer? Looks closer to a Defender size than an Officer.

I have carried a Defender in a Brommeland Max-Con V, for me a very comfortable holster.

It is Defender size. I just figured there was a higher chance of finding Officer sized holster's for the short term. Gun should still fit, and give me a good idea what to expect.

Very true.

I have a few that fit a Defender, but in the Mankato area. My hands down favorite IWB for my Defender is a Brommeland Max-Con V, the extra leather flap at the muzzle end makes a big difference when it come to comfort.

I carry a commander IWB daily. It's a custom rig I made with a little more cant than the FBI holsters. I found the angle to sit better with my hip. Just mentioning this, because it made a big difference in comfort vs the max angle on a crossbreed I borrowed.

Wrap that around your overly muscled left wing and row your dinghy in counterclockwise circles as a result.

I personally am a fan of two. My galco summer comfort is my current everyday and I also tote my schleif "gunny" when it is a little colder.

Galco Summer Comfort is what I use 90% of the time. I love it. Its comfortable. The only time I dont use it is when I am carrying OWB on my property or through the woods.
