Good advice! I remember walking up to her when I first got my permit and saying "how does it look" "How does what look?"

And wear it around the house without telling the others. You may find that unless you hug every 5 minutes, it can take a while to get made and that will boost confidence.

Yup. DDB had a lot of good posts around the subject back when he first got his permit. He wasn't new to firearms, but he was new to carry, and he writes very well, and has the geek habit of trying to think things through; really useful insights.

In regards to what women carry, I tend to sell a lot of Sig Sauer 239's and taurus 85 (.38 spl) revolvers to new female shooters. On the flip side the Sprinfield Armory 9mm EMP is very popular but like most 1911 style guns may not be as intuitive to new shooters. My advice would be to swing by Bill's (either store) and have her hold and possibly shoot a few guns. If you stop by Bill's North and have your wife talk to Teresa, she will get great advice. Most of the crew at north have wives or SO's that shoot as well.

As for the machine gun reccomended be Greg, well, at least no one would mess with her.
