AHA ... I must admit, Macphisto is correct, even if he DID use wikipedia as a source :-)

The guy i talked to said they could get them in <lol> Not a big deal as i am sure you wil be able to order Glocks from them, as every manufactuer i have contacted has referred me to use striechers to make my purchase for weapons they have on the special pricing plan. I ordered my scandium s&w 1911 through striechers and saved $500 of retail after rebate, and am looking at ordering a couple of Springfield 1911's from them at the special pricing.

Special pricing on Springfields you say? I've been looking at a Stainless Milspec 1911 for awhile. Granted a 1911 is nothing compared to the perfection of a GLOCK 21, but it still would be nice to have an old antique design. A friend of mine has one and I really liked shooting it at the range.

If you qualify by being in the line of work of where you have a valid military, police, security I.D then you qualify with springfield for the program as with smith and wesson.
One of the places to get a rough idea on the price is here at buds http://www.budspolicesupply.com/catalog ... cPath/3_14 as they have a law enforcement section with the pricing.

Also the I.D'S also apply to the Kimbers they have and can order over there as well as the selection of shotguns and A.R's and rifles. Buds has the best selection on any website in one area and they have a nice savage sniper rifle i am thinking of buying after X-mass.

I'm lucky in that I qualify as one of Minnesota's many peace officers. I think a Springfield 1911 may be in my future.

They are pretty wise to what companies are out there, but there is no regulated mandate for I.D's.

Not true... Minnesota requires that ID's be issued to security officers.. But I don't believe they specify the type/format and so on.

They can call and check (or look online)... Their are steps & requirements for licensing a security business.

Of course they have to have I.D's. But there is no specific design lay out etc was what i was sying. The next time i see Mike Campion i will check with him on it. And any tactical mall ninja can get a gun witht he right paper work.

And as long as you have a license provided by the " Private detective board " i believe that is what they are called, you can run a security company or some one can operate
under the license. And security companies are regulated by that board and then the vehicle and uniforms are taken care of by the P.O.S.T board who dont do a very good job at it <lol> But some times people ( plblark )and manage to buy a gun tax free with the discount at striechers.

It wasn't tax free. It was a good deal. They've always been polite and professional to deal with. Maybe with departments diversifying and the Glock contract leaving they'll carry more non-glock merchandise :-)
