I would suggest not having her check out this board.... That won't help your case much.

Option 1, talk to your dad directly, then show up when they are gone and rescue them.

Option 2, have your dad tell your mom if she hates them get them out of the house.

Option 3, tell her they are a risk to have because of theft, etc, and push that you have a several hundred dollar safe to store them in.

On the surface, option one and two look good, but remember that my Father is indifferent. To him I believe it would be easier to float down-stream than swim up it in regards to my Mom on this one.

+1

This is really not a gun related question. Advise on how to deal with parents is more touchy than reloading without reading any manuals (insert many SS post here). Good luck ;)

That never changes, does it. C'est la vie. I'll find a way to win this one, it might just take some time.

Get your mom real drunk, spike her drink, etc. Dress up like the ghost of your grandfather and scare her into giving you the guns.
Decrypt the points of departure and return your head slowly and you do not cancel your hair.

You're just full of great ideas today.... But much like you idea of flat out stealing the firearms..... I'm; looking for something a little less...... um...... felonious.

But his mom made him wear dresses till he was 17,,,,

I think you're not giving your dad enough credit here, he will have a weakness for getting them out of hte house, and your mom will give in if he does it.

I may have missed it, but whose side was the original owner on, I mean, mom's dad, or dad's dad.

OK - hide the guns somewhere else in the house, then relentlessly keep asking your mother to see them. When she discovers they are missing, accuse her of letting them get stolen. The ask her if it wouldn't have been better to give them to you instead of some thug on the street and when she agrees, tell her you have an offer she can't refuse.

Too much work. I get to their place once a year, logistically not feasible, but hilarious none the less. And to answer your question fan, Dad's Dad. I'm pretty sure i'm giving my Father the correct amount of credit here, but will find out.

Get someone to dress up in a military uniform (preferably one of a 3rd world country), put on a blue helmet with U N painted on the sides in white, talk with a foreign accent, and have them tell her that they are there to confiscate any unwanted guns that she has in the house.
