Well, frankly, my plan is to not HAVE to treat a gun shot wound in my home in the first place. Why do you think I carry a 50 with 300 grain Gold Dot hollowpoints in it?? A wound means the perp still has some life left in him. My plan is to have a large pile of perp salad sitting on the floor before my mag is empty...

And I don't own a G5 or any other airplane. Best I got is an old Comet 2 185 hang glider on the wall out in the garage. But the boat is a Hunter 46', and very nice....

Gee, thanks. Guess I'm not having that salad I was planning on... (Just kidding. It would take a lot more to turn me off my feed.)

I'm not worried about perps. I'm worried about me and people I care about. With that in mind, if a class happens, me and the Mrs. are in.

As a one time trainer said, if you have to shoot, shoot them down, paint and carpet are cheap compared to one day in the hospital....

Just got re-certified and rebuilt my class first aid kit to upgrade it to more of an emergency kit than an aspirin and paper cut kit.

Got a few things from here - http://bpmedicalsupplies.com/main.sc
They carry CPR barriers and they also carry Celox, which I have added to my class first aid kit.

Cobb seeing as you have just had the refresher with all the new ideas, how about a list or a pic of what you consider a necessity, if you would,

Nothing fancy, more dressings and wraps than most kits have. So, several sizes of sterile gauze, roll bandages, large triangle bandages, adhesive cloth tape, very large adhesive bandages, cold compress pack, 2-15g CELOX® Hemostat, CPR barrier, examination gloves, tweezer, scissors, tongue depressors, q-tips, small bottle of saline, small bottle of hydrogen peroxide, antiseptic wipes, Motrin/Aleve and plain aspirin.

If you want pictures, I will have to wait until all my replacement and additions come in from BP Medical Supplies.

Any suggestions, I would be more than happy to add something if others think I am missing a major item.

I have several large (3/4" x 4") or so syringes, no needles, but when I was doing carpentry a lot more, I found getting a wound washed out with just a water bottle for a source was hard, using the syringe, I had pressure to irrigate a decent sized cut and I would just refill if from the bottled water that kept in my kit, like your saline, same thing now, I have a squeeze bottle of liquid hand soap and a dab of that, a little scrubbing or just having the patient/victim manipulate the wound a bit and then use the syringe to squirt out the soap works very well.

The syringes I use are 40 to 50 cents at fleet farm. They come sterile wrapped and once I use mine, they go in the tool box for glue applicators.

Are you trying to compare Mcgyver to Rambo? Mcgyver was a gun grabbing hippy.
