WM ammo observations

Postby phorvick on Sat May 22, 2010 5:39 am

Stopped into our local WM in Detroit Lakes and they had a nice stock of .22, .380, .40, .45 and 9mm. No limitations on amount.

Today I am in Lincoln, NE, and stopped into a Wal-Mart and they were flooded with ammo. Not an issue with any common pistol caliber. Turns out it was a manager on duty and he says ammo has been no problem for that store for a good 2 months. Also, the Fargo store...3 weeks ago...was very well stocked.

Pricier though...$23.96/100 9MM. $18 for the 550 Federal .22's.

Perhaps the hoarding is coming to an end. The 380 is the biggest surprise in your group. The Maple Grove WM has been stocking 9mm and some 40 but that's about it so far.

I've been told by a Walmart employee that they are getting shipments almost every night now.

No, not that guy. Or that other one either.

Yep, I've been buying both WWB .45 and federal Champion .45 at my local Walmarts for the last two weeks. 9mm galore, always the .40, but haven't seen the .380 yet, which is good or I might have to buy one... (a new pistol, that is)
15.97 for the federal .45 is a great way to stock up on brass...

Stopped into Vadnais Heights Wal-Mart last week and saw pretty much the same thing. A decent supply of 9mm, .40, .45 .22 and a box or two of .38special They even had several boxes of .45 Colt which I had never seen before. They did have a six box limit still in effect.

Prices seem to have at least stabilized. I can't recall the brand but I noticed the (orange and black color?) 50 round boxes of the 9mm have dropped quite a bit. Still not as cheap as the WWB value pack, but they are getting closer in price.

Maybe the prices have finally made people quit taking the BS.

I have found all but 38, 380 and 32ACP at the Woodbury WM. All others are in good stocking shape.
