I know we had this conversation before, but I'll raise it again. There are reports that Simple Green is not safe for aluminum. I'm not sure if it's internet hype or truth, but it's something to research before you use the product on aluminum parts.

from what i understand, it is not so much the aluminum but the metals that it is alloyed with that it is corrosive to. There is no denying that it is strong stuff, just dont let it sit too long and rinse thoroughly, i do not own any aluminum guns that i shoot so it doesnt bother me too much.

I used Simple Green aka Fleet Farm Jungle Jake on a old .22 Iver Johnson I bought a couple weeks ago. It cleaned everything perfect. I believe I mixed it at 1 part cleaner to 3 parts water. It's the same mix ratio I use to degrease under the hood on the cars & trucks. This is the second time I have used this as a gun cleaner as I bought a Stevens .22 bolt a few weeks prior and it was a freakin dirty mess. That one cleaned up like a piece of cake. Never had any corrosion issues using this stuff for cleaning other things as long as I use lots of water to rinse after the cleaner dissolves the crud I wanted to clean. The guns of course get sprayed with oil after drying so corrosion is not an issue.
