Being from Southern Illinois, their laws suck. And anything north of I-80 blows.

Illinois has horrible gun laws - I would highly recommend not living there.

The only places worse are Massachusetts and New York, honestly.

The State is really two States, Cook County is a separate beast. IF you can live west or south a ways, the changes are pretty quick. No offer from the company yet, but I've been out of work for over a year and this is the first hot lead I've had. Tough to say no when you have run unemployment out, your savings is shrinking and money is much better than I was previsouly earning.

Good luck! Seriously look at Walworth County, WI. Housing is much cheaper than Illinois, lower taxes, great schools, great hunting..........

It's about 30 miles to WI. Plan on living there and start finding a job outside of hellinois as soon as possible.


But I can understand why you would need to consider this option.
