There is something inherently beautiful about a rifle, it becomes an extension of your ability and your beliefs. When held in the proper hands and with good practice it becomes a formidable weapon to defend family, self and country. It can also feed the mouths of starving people, repel and put down an enemy, or cause a person to have a stressfree evening putting holes accurately in inanimate objects.
For me, though I no longer own one, my heart will always be with a rifle, be it a lever action model 99 putting venison in the freezer, a G3 or L85A2 to defend my country and those that I care for and love, or a ridiculously overpriced piece of hand tooled precision equipment designed for sub MOA accuracy at great distance.

This is my rifle.
There are many like it, but this one is MINE.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life.
My rifle without me is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless.
I must fire my rifle true.
I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me.
I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will...
My rifle and myself know that what counts in war is not the rounds we fire,
the noise of our bursts, nor the smoke we make.
We know it is the hits that count. We will hit...
My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life.
Thus, I will learn it as a brother.
I will learn its weaknesses, its strengths, its parts, its accessories,
its sights, and its barrel.
I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage.
I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready.
We will become part of each other. We will...
Before God I swear this creed.
My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country.
We are the masters of our enemy.
We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until there is no enemy, but PEACE.

The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Ramones?

I'd prefer Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Deep Purple.

Maybe Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer.

Or perhaps Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Jessica Simpson.

What about Young Jeezy, Lil' Wayne, and T.I.?

Okay I'll stop there. I like all of them. If I had private property, my favorite would be the shotgun. :D

Prefer handguns, rifles and shotguns in that order. Spend most my time shooting handguns since it is something I always wanted to do as a teenager, but never got much of. Thirty years later, I am making up for lost time.

While I dabble in and am proficient with handguns and shotguns, my passion is NRA/CMP Highpower Rifle. I still get giddy accurately shooting an iron sighted rifle at ranges most bubba's can't even fathom.

Alright, who are the 6 chubby degenerates, err I mean "Supper Special Forces Operators".
I will never apologize for being an American.

in my current neck of the woods, a shotgun gives the most opportunity to shoot with family and friends and provide quality time and memories. (can't hunt deer with rifles down here for example) Shotgun lets you hunt birds and deer which are my two points of interest in hunting.

Rifles and handguns I'll be enjoying as well, but for now that will be a thing I enjoy by myself until I find some like minded folks around here.

I love walking thru the woods with a dog and a shotgun, I love sitting in a tree on a cold morning waiting for that twig snap behind me.....I like shooting handguns till my fingers are stiff. picking one over the other is like saying one kid is loved more than the other...

Mom won't let me get a gun until I find a job. She sucks. I just got home from college three years ago. What's the rush?

BTW, you put the Beatles and Ramones in the same category as the Stones. I'll assume you were joking. Two groups of dorks with bad hair vs. the greatest garage band in the universe. Gimme Shelter contains more cool and wicked awsome than everything the hair dudes have ever done put together.

'Gimme shelter' is IMHO the best song ever written bar none but Mick Jagger is a dork. Johnny Ramone is up there with Keith when it comes to coolness and they did write '53rd and 3rd'. The Beatles were lucky to have George Harrison who wrote 'here comes the sun' and 'while my guitar gently weeps', end of discussion.

Back on topic, I have a Colt Python. Did you know that. :D

Love that song so much it's almost wierd. Almost. Here Comes the Sun is another one of the all-time greats. It always reminds me to stop dwelling on negative things. Musically, Clapton and Dylan have transcended any and all human standards. Their collected bodies of musical work is greater, cooler, more important, more moving, more magical, than all other musical works throughout history combined. While the stones are the greatest garage band in history, they are still, just a garage band.

Pythons are awsome. I can't have one cuz' I'm too short. When I hold a big wheel-gun I look like a kid who's been snooping through his dad's night-stand.

Shooting shotguns at winged critters is still prolly my all-time favorite gun thing. I sort of reached a plateau with trap. I was just never gonna be one of those guys who gets to move back. I'm still in the infant stages of learning pistolcraft. I desparately want to see a consonant by my name on the USPSA page. Got the vowel covered.

Fixed it for ya!

I've recently heard 93X play Run to the Hills a couple times. I almost called 'em up to let 'em know their radio station was way too lame to play something so awesome. Image

Megadeth, White Zombie, and Monster Magnet once put out a nice album, each. Image

Thank God fer my Walkman!

I can't believe some of the ear-piercing whining, mumbling, and voo-doo chants so-called "rock" stations play. Image
