New Year's Resolution on Gun Purchases?

Postby Stradawhovious on Fri Oct 29, 2010 11:35 am

Yeah, I know it's early, but I've been daydreaming about my first 2011 purchase.

I think this coming year, if I could only buy one (and that's the way the wind seems to be blowing.. :roll: ) I'm going to have my sights set on either a smith and wesson 610, an Olympic Arms Westerner (color case hardened 1911)or and AR10 build.

How about you folks?

Nice try. Just for that, even if I do end up selling something, and I probably wont, it won't be to you. :mrgreen:

i want a gun that uses empty beer bottles as ammunition and when you fire it hot babes fly out the barrel.

:D that would be sweet. :D

let me know when they come out with that one. i'll light the grill, take a 2nd morgage on the ranch (they're bound to be a little spendy...) and we'll have one heckuva party dude.
i do what i can, where i'm needed, and i ask so little in return. i'm a true humanitarian fueled by rainbows and whiskey. you should be so lucky to know me...

Remember, March 2011, is the 100 year anniversary of the military adopting Browning's semi-automatic pistol, caliber 45 ACP, Model 1911.

We should all plan on purchasing at least one that month!

My intensive gun acquisition phase has ended, I intend to go the 1/year route from here on out. I would speculate that I want a 4" GP100, but invariably something else shiny and below market will appear.

I guess I could start buying guns as gifts?

Gotta keep my purchases to minimum next year. Thinking real hard about picking up a 1911, but that's about it.

I haven't prioritized yet but I'd like to get at least some of the following next year:

* AR-15 for IDPA Multi-Gun
* M&P9c for carry
* Another wheel gun. One that can use moon clips. 625 maybe. Can the 686's be modified to use moon clips?
* anything shiny that happens to catch my eye at the same time that I have money.

Yes the 686 can be milled out to accept moon clips. http://www.moonclips.com/content/machine.asp

The drive to buy more guns has subsided somewhat after I got my Colt Python this year but still, there are a couple of things that are on the list:

- Upland O/U with straight English stock (think Beretta 686/Browning Citori)
- Rock River Predator upper for AR15
- Back up trap gun (Winchester model 12)
I have a Colt Python and you don't so what do I care...
