How far do you tear down your hunting rifle after season (0-100%)?

0% ... I don't clean it

1% ... I wipe down the outside & that's it

25% ... I clean the barrel & wipe down the outside

50% ... I pull the bolt and/or mags (if applicable) & pull a swab / bore snake through the barrel & wipe down the outside

75% ... I pull everything that might have been exposed to burning powder / bullet / environment & clean it then wipe down the outside

For any gun I plan on listing on this forum to sell, I give it a 100% cleaning with a complete disassembly.

As far as anyone knows...

You can't really completely tare down a lot of deer rifles unless you have specialized equipment like a barrel vice.

If I shoot my slug gun it gets a complete clean after deer season, I have a oil rag in a plastic bag in my stand incase it gets wet or snow on it and throw my gun case in the dryer if it gets damp. Im not anal about cleaning but I dont want rust to start.

I shoot most everything including big game rifles often, which leaves little reason for long term storage cleaning and perserving methods. I clean the action when conditions warrent it (dusty, dirty wet etc.,), and likewise, I clean the bore's when accuracy falls off. Other than that, they get a thurough wipe down and lube where needed, after each shooting session.
