Mossberg Chainsaw

Postby Spike on Sat Jan 01, 2011 5:11 pm

I grabbed this from another forum. Looks pretty silly to me. I'd feel like I was holding a weed wacker.

Yeah.

Man, I though Mossberg hit a low with their "Roadblocker"--or whatever they called the pistol-gripped 500 with the .50-cal style muzzlebrake on it--for pure mall ninja foolishness.

Seems I was mistaken.

A gun like that brings down the value of every Mossberg.

Part of the value of a gun comes from the brand. IMHO, a product like this hurts the Mossberg brand, therefore hurting the value of their entire product line.

I thought I saw a post on the boards here at MGT some time ago about someone's Uncle (or similar) that trimmed his trees with a shotgun. I think the marketing folks at Mossberg saw a new "niche."

I'm no lawyer, but...
Chainsaw is a terrible name for a home defense firearm.

I can hear it now: (home defense case in court)

Lawyer: So, Mr. Home Owner, you defended your family from my client with a gun named the "Chainsaw"?
Doesn't it seem violent and gory to use a firearm named "the chainsaw"? It brings to mind horror films and zombie movies.

Home Owner: Well, Ye I guess.

Lawyer: Was the main function of this gun named the "Chainsaw" to wound or kill any unwanted intruder in your home?

Home Owner: Well, its not for duck hunting.

Lawyer: Just answer the question.

Home Owner: Yes, it was my home defense firearm.

Lawyer: Isnt it true that you also have "Black Talon" ammunition in your Colt Python?

Home Owner: Yes.

Lawyer: Were you just looking to kill someone?

Seems like a bad name for a home defense firearm...if you ever had to use it.

Wingmaster would sound a lot better to the jury....

Unless you were in civil court and had only wounded the BG

Lawyer: So you used a "Wingmaster" to attack my client? So you only intended to wound or "wing" a prospective intruder? To make them live with the social stigma of being handicapped for the remainder of their life?
