Dammit!! I have a feeling I'm going to get delayed everytime I go to purchase!!! Went to thunderjohn to purchase a 642 today, and delayed again. I just got my ptc earlier this week, that went through fast too... now I'm delayed again!!! I was all amped to go shooting today!!! Now after tonight I gotta work 48hrs in 3.5 days... no time to shoot for a few days!!! Weak!!! Unless he hears back today, but I know I wont get a proceed til Monday... oh well, guess ill do some house cleaning to keep myself occupied...

I feel your pain. Had the same problem at Cabela's last month. Got my PTP dated 12/9 so thought the check at Cabela's would be a snap. No such luck, 3 day delay.
That 3 days does not include the day of the check, and is working days, not weekends or holidays. I was doing this just before Christmas so ended up waiting a week. When I called Cabela's after the wait, they said they had not heard anything back, so I could pickup the handgun. I had found something from a private party so did not complete the transaction.
I will more then likely be going through the delay again next week. I ordered a handgun from Buds to be delivered to Burnsville Pistol Range. Buts its just what a person has to do.

Get a UPIN number if you don't mind them keeping your records on file. My name is very common and I was wondering why I got delayed for ALL of my purchases, did a criminal background check on my name and birthday and someone in this state has a DWI with my same name, same birthday, just middle name is different. Got annoying, though the 3 day wait is not that bad.

They are supposed to destroy your NICS check after every time they run it, that is why you will always get delayed. If you get a UPIN they do one more check on you, file your fingerprints and your local cop shop needs to fill out part of it too. Then no more delay. Kind of nice when dealing with the internet purchasing firearms as some sellers don't like the waiting period thing.

Scheel's in St Cloud has told me it is company policy you would not be allowed to pick up any firearm if they did not get a proceed. Even if the wait time is up. No proceed, no sale.
