Not everyone reads the same threads at the same time. I think Andrew had a valid point.

Thank you, sir, for coming into a discussion, adding unrelated side issues, getting bent out of shape, and generally sewing discord and angst. Generally, I've found the posters hereabouts to be a much more informative lot and even the ones I disagree with I can respect.

LIAR

Justaguy.................you need to realize we've been trying to edumacate the masses since 2003. So when the SAME topic comes up AGAIN, the instructors on this, and other boards, patiently try to explain AGAIN, why it's not a CCW permit here in MN. (Which they do till they're blue in the face.)
So it's almost like a blow to the bollocks when someone like you, wants to argue over the use of words. AGAIN.

WHY?
And you're free to call it what ever you want on here, (GREAT COUNTRY) as long as you don't mind being ridiculed everytime you want to be a wingnut.

So in answer to my question you were referring to me.

You do not need permission from the mods to “go after” me. If you, Ace and Wally want to “go after” me how about instead of all this intranet bravado ask me to sit down face to face man to man and have a talk and if you care I will explain myself to you. If you feel the need to educate me lets do it. I’m not really going to try to convince you about this, but I think you feel the need to convince me. Me personally I didn’t ask this question or care what it’s called and let everyone think what they want. If you could careless, and want to let it go fine by me. I don’t agree with everything everyone says here and at times will “argue” my point a little. If I see its going no where I agree to disagree with people and move on. The fact that you feel the need to ask permission to “go after” me and want to educate me, gives me the impression you do not do that.

I do not take the wing nut personal. I’m 99% sure the “go after” me thing was not meant to be a threat. I would really just like people to understand getting upset with how I think and trying to educate me to your way of thinking probably wont work, and if you feel the need to educate me or “go after” me send me a PM and we can talk about whatever you would like face to face instead of all this typing. That is what I did with Brit which I assume prompted his last response. I asked who he was talking about with the wing nut remark. If my assumption that it was me was right. I was going to make it real easy for him to “go after” me by inviting him to sit down with me some where and have a talk.

I think everyone has been taking themselves way too seriously on this forum for about a month or more. Maybe it’s the holidays, me, weather, Treptow I don’t know. We just need to relax and let some **** go. You call it what ever you like and I’ll call it what I like.

I'll sit down with you. Are you free for the Effin Breakfast this Saturday.? As for the "permission slip" from the mods, I agree with you, some joviality is needed on the board, my attempt at humour
As for the PM thing, learned the hardway on that one (thanks to "the man")

As you can tell by the EMPHASIS in my post, the whole CCW vs P2C just gets rehashed, WAY to many times.

He was trying to poke a little fun as the tongues came out for the dirty sanchez so Brit thought he would throw some humour in. But his scenario would be a bit hard cause walter is on my ignore list :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

So take it for the humour he was trying to poke as some people come over here and have no sense of humour because of the atmosphere in another area. So as this post was dead and gone a long time ago and got brought back to life instead of flogging a dead horse on the road to nowhere we needed a little humour.

maybe I should wear a "zebra" shirt to the effen breakfast.

The purpose of these get-togethers is to meet and greet on a face to face basis. I suspect in that venue you folks may find out you are not so far apart. ;)

So..............

Come one come all to the breakfast called "effen Permit to Carry a Concealed (or not) Weapon " of your choice which may or may not be a firearm(s) carried openly or stuck ................ :P

Sorry early Saturday’s aren’t for me. Neither are large groups of people. Neither is Saint Paul. Maybe another time. I didn’t take it as humor because your words to smiley factor weren’t per the rules for sarcastic humor. Read the memo about it and maybe this kind of thing wouldn’t happen.

To somebody new on the carry scene, "concealed" is not a legal or a political issue. Instead it is a practical feature of the law.

They'd like to have a gun. As a practical matter, they'd need to keep it concealed, to avoid unwanted attention and criticism.

Lo and behold, they can take a class on how do just that, have a gun, and have the matter remain private. What gun, what holster, how to go to the bathroom, how to stay legal, where to store the gun in your car, etc. "Concealed" was an important part of training to me. The fact that I can open carry is great, but "concealed" is much more important.

If you advertise classes, you need to use the "C" word, somehere, so everyone will get the message.

Hmmm...Dick...I think this is the first time I have not agreed with the substance of your post! Maybe I am simply interpreting it incorrectly.

It seems to say that "if you are an instructor and do not indicate in your marketing that your class is to obtain a concealed weapon permit, that you are losing potential customers."

I do see where you are coming from here (don't call it what it "is", rather call it what the public "thinks it is")...and then in your classroom review all of your carry options etc.

That is a very interesting analysis...hmmm...maybe I do agree with.

So, let's see if it works!

ANNOUNCEMENT: My next Permit to Carry a Concealed Weapon class is January 12th. SIgn up now!

You may well be right.

OK, my card says "Permit to Carry a Pistol". So for me, that translates to a PCP.

The next time I get pulled over for speeding, I'll roll down the window and tell the cop "My PCP is in my left rear pocket, and I have a gun on my right hip".

Should go well, don't you think?? :o

How to defend yourself, how to avoid having to actually use the gun for defense, how to safely and legally carry a gun concealed from public view but have it readily accessable, how to select a suitable gun and ammunition for carry as opposed to the best gun for home defense, you actually teach all of that stuff, I think.

I've been around guns all my life, but the only instruction I got on gun carry till my "concealed carry" class was "control the muzzle and unload when you cross the fence". DNR classes. Pistols are different.

The thrust of the carry law is that most people will be able excercise their option to carry concealed. People want to be safe, legal, and concealed 99% of the time. And I think that's about what you teach.

It's unforunate if police training on the MPPA is limited to police reading ads for carry classes.
