Is there any reason to "worry" about having this information? Is it similar to registering? Just curious questions from a newbie.

I'm pretty sure that would be enough for me to use the service. I wasn't clear earlier. I think it's a great idea.

Surprisingly not really.
My inlaws got busted into a couple of years ago, they took a ton of jewelry, an unmounted document safe and other stuff, but left the nearly new CPU and monitor. Apparently the connection with the local PD said they don't bother with computer stuff since it loses value so quickly and its bulky. The ring and bracelet was worth more than the CPU.
Of course this is anecdotal, and not related to anything other than what I've indirectly experienced. Probably not worth the $0.02
