I guess I don't see how one picks a wing of the arm forces and then does something totally not in that field. So, people say, "I'm going to join the airforce and become a security guard?" Or "I"m going to join the airforce and do EOD?" It's like saying "i'm going to go in the Army and sail a ship!" I guess I just don't know. Maybe they just pick the branch for college benefits and then get slated to do these other jobs because they can't fly like tom cruise?

:) If I was running the Airforce like a company I would divest them of these non core competencies and outsource them from the Marines. :D

LOL - that was the Navy.

I still love Bob Goldthwait's bit on guys who joined the Navy after watching Top Gun. :D
(he's horribly anti-gun, but that was a funny bit)

Probably less competition for the sniper slot in the Air Force. :P

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combat_Control_Team

Air Force Special Operations Command's Combat Controllers are Battlefield Airmen assigned to special tactics squadrons. They are trained special operations forces and certified Federal Aviation Administration air traffic controllers. The mission of a Combat Controller is to deploy undetected into combat and hostile environments to conduct special reconnaissance, establish assault zones or airfields, while simultaneously conducting air traffic control, fire support, command, control, and communications and forward air control. They deploy with air and ground forces in support of direct action, such as drug cartel, counter-terrorism, foreign internal defense, humanitarian assistance, and combat search and rescue. Combat Controllers employ all-terrain vehicles, amphibious vehicles, weapons and demolitions in pursuit of their objectives, which may include obstacle destruction.

George's "miss" was such BS. If he really had class he wouldn't have made such a point of using the biggest target at the shortest range. He wanted to make sure we wouldn't miss him showing us how cool he was. Total d-bag.

If you and George were lost in the woods and there was only one sandwich left, you ain't gettin' any. Unless the cameras were rolling.

Bingo!

Could be. If so, George is still a d-bag for playing along.

Also still not sure why they included another cowboy mounted shooter. Those guys don't even use live ammo. Just primer only rounds that pop balloons at close range.

+1

Cowboy mounted shooters are seeming more and more like poseurs....but they do make good TV.

I would guess the horse is the key in Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Maybe they should add a horse on the next show.

Westberg, you can't give all the awesome ideas like that out for free! Contact the show and offer out your services as a consultant (and equipment provider  ).

Primer plus blackpowder.
