You seem to have federal and state parks confused.
In Mn, with a permit to carry, it is legal to carry in state parks, including buildings.
No need to inform anyone.
Federal parks are subject to the state laws of the state they are in, with the additional rule of no carry in federal buildings, so outside is fine, dont go inside .
The "inform" part is for courthouse or government centers[think sherriffs office] and the state capitol.
I suggest refreshing your memory by re-reading your class handouts or textbook [you did get something from your instructor I hope].

The best thing to do is make sure you ask people who know what they're talking about, and read the law for yourself...

Well, yeah.

Your instructor hopefully told you during your class that state entities CANNOT ban carry, other than what's outlined in 609.66 There are only a few places in MN that you cannot carry a gun.

if i remember right state park you are good as long as you do not go into the offices at the park

You may be thinking of the national park law. It now states that you can carry, but.... You can't carry into buildings where federal employees are working.

Thanks for the help guys. I think I'll also buy that MN Carry handbook that I saw at Bill's just so I don't have to bother you guys with petty questions like this. However I am very appreciative of the response generated by this community. MNGunTalk is a great place with great people.

PLEASE ask any questions that you have. I do recommend Mike Martin's book, but I would much rather you ask us what may be a stupid question, and keep your ass out of jail.

It's impossible to remember everything that's covered in a 6 hour class, and there is a wide array of thoroughness of instructors. We may jest, but no one here will think less of you for ensuring that you are being lawful.
