1. Treat every gun as if it is loaded
2. muzzle control:
3.know your target and what is beyond

You forgot a pretty important one: Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.

I've never had a problem picking up my brass at bills. The trick is you gotta pick it up right away, after every magazine. Most other people there don't care about their brass, so the lanes get filled with unwanted 9mm and such to the point where it gets dangerous. Therefore they come sweep it.

I usually have 1-3 guns on the lane, especially if i'm shooting with someone else. I can see limiting it to that, but 1 gun at a time would suck.

The video is a good idea, They do it at scottsdale GC.

I've been told that if I have a revolver with blazer aluminum ammo It would be OK if I made certain that I put the aluminum in the trash can.

The brass is yours, without a doubt, and you're entitled to safely collect it.

Who says you can't pick up your brass?
I've been on the range at bills maybe a dozen times in the last couple years. I have only had a range employee talk to me one time on the range. and he only asked why I wasn't shooting in the lane he assigned to me. (I moved to the other room in Robbinsdale) I simply said "I didn't feel safe next to that guy, so I moved over here."
The only reply I got was "That's a good idea" and he left me alone.

I've been able to collect all the brass I can. I'm certain I have .357 brass. I can't remember ever firing a .357.

Someone said that bills employs gun snobs, I disagree with that statement

2. The (woman) shooter should shoot really, really well... prove it...

I understand if you want to pick up your own brass. Its as simple as letting the RSO know before you shoot. I've been to many ranges before, and I would see brass Nazis pick up their brass and everything they can get away with. If its yours, then it is yours. Don't be the Dumb@$$ who ruins it for everyone else. I've been to bill's north many times and I've seen shooters sweep up their brass and then sweep up brass from 3 other lanes or even lanes to their left. I mean C'mon dude, this is why the employees come off like that. I collect brass for my 500 SW and .223 and the RSOs have asked if I was collecting my own, and I said "yes" and they said cool. That was it. As far as the employees checking my guns......well I've seen on some occasions where the RSO would check a gun and damn what do you know, a round pops out of the chamber, and the customer will be like OMG I didn't know. As long as the employee isnt finger F*%^king my guns he can check it for safety all he wants. Bottom line is You DONT have to shoot at bill's if you dont like the rules, Bill's will do fine without your business.

You have to be stealthy and quick about it or one of the brass nazis from hell (aka Bill's rep) will come and knock it out of your hand and over the ledge.

:) Hasn't happened to me yet.

Cool, that's what I always did, but now I know don't have to worry about if anybody's looking.

My observations as a guy who has shot at bills a few times.

1) I was always told I could have a couple guns in the lane....as long as the handguns not being used were pointed downrange, unloaded with the action open. I have had 2 to 3 hand guns in the lane most trips.
2) Never had a problem with brass....I don't reload, but have recovered brass to give to friends. I have seen it before where there are so many cases on the floor, it makes it dangerous to walk or stand without falling....I don't blame anyone for sweeping this stuff up....I don't want to see someone fall with a gun.
3)Targets - I have seen people shoot at really small targets clipped directly to the clips....and shoot up the hanger assembly....I am suprised about the rule of home made targets....I think a better rule would be about the size of the target, or if it is a small target, it should be attached to a cardboard backer so it sits lower....keeping bullets off the hanger, and out of the ceiling....that is the real problem I have seen first hand....an 8.5X11 target hanging from the clips, begs to have bullets hit the ceiling or the hanger assembly.

That is about it....
Never mind the typos. My keyboard is full of beer, crumbs and Dr. Peper........and .........the typo and grammer police can go to........HE..!.....no...wait a minute......California!
