Not sure about your cabin, but on my land we've got bears - guns stay on you at all times in the woods. I've yet to have a problem with my sidearm on the quad.

Depends. Arctic Cat or Polaris?

Those are snowmobiles. He's talking 4-wheeler. The difference is that I crash snowmobiles (FYI).

It sounds like so much fun... in theory... :( I wish there were some way you could be drunk and shoot responsibly while operating an ATV... alas... further proof there is no merciful God. So much for intelligent design.

Really?

They make 4-wheelers, too.

What injures more people per year, guns or ATVs ? I would trust myself drunk with a gun before I would trust myself drunk on an ATV.

I believe you can get just as busted for a DUI on a ATV as you can on a bicycle, which is the same as a car. (and I believe even on private property..)

I say shoot and ride all you want, then put the dangerous stuff away and drink on the porch in the evening.

BTW< Great troll thread! :D

They're may be bears but theyll do their best to avoid us. Enough noise drives them away.

Why are we even discussing this? We should never partake in any alcohol while carrying, or in direct possession of firearms full stop.

While I am sure that there are people that will disagree, and think that one beverage is fine, and it likely is under the letter of the law, it just is a bad idea for all of the reasons that we all understand as adults. Alcohol in any amount can impair motor function and or cognitive reasoning.

You want to go to the cabin and shoot and ride, totally cool. Add alcohol and the chances of something going bad multiplies exponentially. I don't know bout you guys but if something bad were to happen while engaging in an activity with an already inherently moderate risk, where carelessness hurts or worse, I would not want to be disadvantaged by alcohol in any amount. That goes for riding and shooting. Quads and snowmobiles are dangerous toys, guns are just about as potentially dangerous.

Not trying to preach but damn what a dumb thing to do nevertheless try to justify or rationalize.

Drinking on private property while perhaps less apt to have an encounter that could jam you up is still as unsound an action as intoxicated carry in public.

With that line of logic, I would not trust either, at least for myself.

I have nothing clever to say that can describe how futile this discussion really is.
