.2 sec is damned fast, I've pulled off some sub .20 before practicing. 25 yards on steel USPSA shape target.
That was shooting 800-1k rounds per week, outside of the match. Getting under .2 controlled would be amazing.

Z could probably do it, D could probably do it consistently.

I am since a lot slower, due to lack of practice.

:? Whaaa? Semi dumping round into berm is 60% slower than a revolver at targets? Not to mention who was behind the wheels... ;)

Physically speaking, you can tune your trigger finger to move faster, cycling the revo

You can't train you semi to run faster than what it cycles at.

True, but thats a lot of pull, both weight and distance with a revolver....

Yeah, you're right. I suck.

Notice I said only when I'm right on top of the targets? Also, my 625 has a 5lb buttery smooth pull. I;m as quick with it as I am with my 1911.

Here is one of the strings at Oakdale last year. The last three pairs are .19 splits. (the rest are quite slower.) I was faster by the end of the season. I'm faster on the revo than a lot of the semi auto shooters I know. Ask them they will tell you.

Problem is, fast =/= accurate for a lot of folks. I resemble that. Thats one thing I have to work on.

If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.

Strad, you were getting splits between .083 and .10 last weekend at Bill's. And that was consistent 19 splits in a row.

Z is heading to Area 5 this weekend so I will ask him next week what his splits are. Mike and I are planning more practice sessions so I will see if there is improvement. As we have all seen working the trigger fast doesn't always mean match wins.
One thing I forgot to mention is that I was shooting factory .40 and Mike was shooting hand loads.

THAT would explain the discrepancy!

Make sure to let Mike know, he'll NEVER make Grandmaster shootin' so slow, like that!

Hey I need all of the excuses I can think of and Mike needs to practice since his 7 percentage points away from GM.
Oh and the sun was shining in my eyes!!! Come on rugersol I laid it out there, what have your splits been?

:D Its not so much that you can't make that wheel gun sing Strad, but that I can't figure out why Mike can't dump rounds into a berm faster (trying with 3 different guns!) I swear I've seen Mike make faster splits than that during stages!

I have absolutely no problem sayin' what they are ... fer as little as I practice, I figure I don't do too bad.

However ... don't laugh, now ... I rarely practice with a timer  ... and when I do, it's more to try to git used to it, so I don't toss my gun up in the air, end over end (fer thems of ya that were at the Faribault Pts match circa '05 'er thereabouts Image).

So, despite the fact that I HAVE practiced with a timer, on the RARE occasion I actually looked to see how long what I did, took me, it honestly never once occurred to me to so much as take a peek at what my splits were. Image

Now ya got me curious ... so, I 'spose next time, I'll hafta check it out ... and report back. So only A's count ... is that right? Image Oh wait! ... I don't use IPSC targets. :?

FWIW, IIRC, I was 17.9x on the Comp last nite, 1 miss ... shoulda easily been 15.xx ... I had a good plan and was moving good ... once again I was too late with the reload coming into the port, so that got me flustered, then I missed the activating popper, which got me even MORE flustered, then I missed one 'er more of the other poppers, which gave me less time to hit the static 'fore the swinger, so I had to rush my shots on the swinger, which totally F'd my confidence, so THEN I had to wait fer the swinger to come back out, and put 2 - 3 more shots on it!

I have no clue what my splits might've been.

I'm guessing because Mike has been busy this year his shooting has taken a back seat to it, until now. He is starting to practice again and we will see what happens, it was our are first time out and fast splits wasn't the goal except the berm shots. The split times I quoted was from drills where we were going for speed and accuracy at ten yards not just how fast we could pull the trigger. I also quoted an constant average which would be more realistic in a match.
