Still bring the 1911, you can leave it at my place free of charge. Have it back to you in a few years. Maybe.

Wow, and I though PC vs. MAC "discussions" were tough.

Anyhow, I shot a S&W 686-4 6 shot and really liked it. I can see why there are those that shoot only the wheel guns.

And judging from seeing some of you guys shoot, single action ain't any better. Quit bitching about what gun is best and work on the important stuff. Like hitting what you are shooting at.

That would be a great start.

And FYI most people who are just starting, Would ne well advised to spend some time with a good double action pistol or better yet a revolver.

Really, Glock is not the be-all and end-all to defensive weapons. i have never owned one, and i don't think i ever will. sorry fanboys, the truth hurts

The only thing that hurts is ignorance. Your owning or not owning a gun based upon a limited knowledge doesn't make one difference to me. Plain and simple the glock is a fine pistol and works that's all. Call me a fanboy but I have been carrying the same set of glocks since issued to me in well 1992.

Funny how I am firmly in the industry, owned just about everything, have access to ANYTHING that I want for free or a greatly reduced price, and I still only trust my life to that old crusty Glock 17

But I don't know what I am talking about afterall. Glock owns the law enforcement market for good reasons.

I'll step out on that wobbly limb.

I have shot just about everything, and owned H&K's, Sigs, XD's, M&P's, 1911's, Glocks, Kahrs, etc.

I can discuss good and bad about all of them, as they ALL have good and bad points. All have their purpose and all are reliable. All can get unreliable if you are a internet fed junior gunsmith putting on things that are not buying you anything in a gunfight because someone said it was a good idea. :shameonyou:

That said, Glocks rule. They just point better and perform better for me. I like the trigger, the shape, and the reliability they offer. Not to say there aren't other brands of firearms that are almost half as good, but they just stay in the safe, while the Glocks stay out of the safe. :exactly:

Okay, so we've determined that the plastic guns are good shooters and reliable, but they still lack "character", kind of like Honda's, functional, but boring to look at. :bolt:

Now I've officially joined the wheel gun ranks, I purchased a Smith and Wesson 686-4 SSR. I'm hoping to try it out next weekend.

So Dave, is that like a denialist glock?

"Hey Dave, where's your glock?"

Dave: "I don't have a glock"

"You said you have one"

Dave: "Do you see a glock on me?"

All kidding aside, that's a pretty sweet looking paint job. Admit it, you were practicing on something cheap so you wouldn't wreck a good gun. :rotf: :bolt:
