Rent-a-gun

Postby bobbydamit on Fri Jul 22, 2011 9:39 am

Maybe this is already a reality, or a stupid idea, but, remember when Bud Grant and folks had the [BOAT CLUB]. I think it was a club you belonged to and used any boat in the club as member. Would it be a cool thing if you could rent or use a certain gun, take it to the range or on a hunting trip, and return it in good condition and not really own it??. Members could try different guns and see if they really want to own such a gun, if not, nothing lost but the membership and rental fees. I know, tons of complications attached, but it would be fun to try instead of buy. Just a thought!!
Now you can jump all over on my aged cheese brain. :P

That's why we have the loaner forum!

I would be happy to meet up with just about anyone at the range so they could try one of my guns as long as they feed it.

Granted my collection is tiny compared to some folks here, but there are some fun ones in it.

I would be willing to bet that most folks here would do the same.

Great, did not know that. I might let my rare guns join in too. Like a Broomhandle I will have for a few months yet. There is So much on this web site, I did not know you had a loaner forum. Very cool. 8-)

I'm not sure if this will work. Does Bud Grant even own any guns?

I believe that somewhere along the line wives got involved in this loaning and the entire thing unraveled — either that or the box with all of the room keys got lost. :rotf:

This forum really does have a lot to offer. Like I used to say its probably the number one MN gun forum, and the most active.

Let's just say Shippy didn't have a good day with the chronys over Memorial Day Weekend 2010 (yes that is plural Chronys) :gun:

I've borrowed from someone on this forum. I also carry extra ammo in calibers I don't own. Just in case.

How can a person handload and not own his own chronograph, especially when decent quality ones can be had for under $90?

It's too expensive for shippy to shoot his own chrony's. :D
