place to shoot in or near forest lake?

Postby zachkuby87 on Mon Aug 22, 2011 12:06 pm

Ok so I promised my little cousin I would bring him to the range today but he lives in forest lake and doesn't get his drivers license till next month so I have to pick him up but I really don't wanna drive to forest lake and back down to robbinsdale or burnsville where I normally shoot plus id have to bring him back up there and that's just too much gas for me to waste to go shoot a little bit anyone know of a range or place to shoot close to forest lake. I tried calling the forest lake sportsman club or whatver it is but got no answer. Is bills in circle pines gonna be my best bet or?

You may want to assure that he also has his Hunter Safety card with him.....
many times it is a requirement for folks under 18...... :|

I'm guessing, at a range that did not have the "Hunter's Safety" requirement?! Image

Bullseye in North Branch is a great place to shoot. It's a very family oriented environment.

Not nessesarily. Oakdale has a DNR requirement when open to the public, however member can bring their family (non-hunters safety aged included) during non-public hours. Also, the DNR classes do a shooting component after the test and field day but before the certificate has been issued.

If you want to commit to shooting the next six Thursdays, I'm starting my Fall Pistol League at the Forest Lake Sportsmen's Club this Thursday. I'm overlapping Summer League shooting and the start of the six week pistol league.
Kids under 16 shoot free with a paying adult. Cost for this league is just $30.00, and you can shoot both rimfire and centerfire.
Very informal, and safe.
This is a handicap league, which means that I have the shooters shooting distances that they are qualified for. {Anywhere from 10yds-25yds.
I am open from 2:00pm-7:30pm.
Not looking to pay for much more than the target on this one. Just a bunch of fun, with many great folks.

$5/match is a smokin' deal! ... even if ya missed a nite 'er two, ain't much over $7, then!

I'm shootin' a league that's $35 fer 4wk ... targets are probly more expensive, though!
