Bill's Gunshop tokens

Postby dimachico on Sun Sep 11, 2011 6:08 pm

Are Bill's Gun Shop tokens transferable? If so, does anyone want to go in on a 20 pack? Split down the middle? ( I think it makes it $12.50 + tax) per visit.

Any discounts or promotions from this or any other forums?

far as I know, you get a coin type token, and walk in and that's it.

I got a few sacks for christmas a few years back. They used to come in a drawstring sack.

Squib may be able to provide more input.

I found a couple in my range bag the other day, along with some spent brass.

Threw all of it in the trash.

ETA: I don't reload and I don't do Bills.

Bummer. I keep on paying $20 a visit.

Pretty much exactly what Tim Warner said. I bought a pack about two months ago. They're fully transferable and still come in the drawstring bag. They're pretty handy for bringing a buddy along with you to share a lane, since it'll be $10 for the second person, as opposed to spitting the $30 evenly between the two of you.

I guess I'll just wait until someone wants to split a 20 token bag.

I really appreciate all of the information.

I figure the best way to do it would be meet someone at either Robbinsdale or Circle Pines and buy a bag and split them up. Maybe spend a couple hours shooting with someone if they were interested.

I would ignore the bill's haters. I've never had a problem there aside from other people pointing guns at each other. (not me so I guess it's not personal)
And, they don't get on me for practicing with my USPSA holster, doing timing/reloads etc. And if I ask nice they give me slot next to the wall, so my brass stays by me.

And I wouldn't. I don't hate Bills. I do dislike the demeanor of the counter staff. I do dislike their prices. I do dislike the homies on the line trying to shove .40 mags into 9mm guns or vice-versa, but it is Robbinsdale. I get that. That's why I don't shoot there any more.

Totally 100% NOT interested in starting a flame war.

I guess I have been exceptionally lucky with my 4 visits to Bill's.

I First went to Robbinsdale and rented 3 pistols and shot for an hour or so. All for 4 rules were followed by folks around me. The downstairs counter guy seemed somewhat disinterested but wasn't rude. No problems.

My next 3 visits were up in CP. Again, all three visits were uneventful.

I do have a very flexible schedule and try to pick midweek, midday times 12-3ish for shooting. The range only had a couple of other people there and I never felt unsafe. Maybe I just have good luck.

As a matter of fact I was at Chengwatana last week and felt more unsafe when people were unwilling to shoot from the same "firing line" as us. Yes, there was a huge 10 foot tall berm of logs between us and them, But I would prefer to be in line of sight with others at a range... We left pretty quickly after that, and as we were packing up, 2 Sheriffs came in to address their demeanor based on an altercation they had with one of the loggers out there.

I too like Bill's and shoot/shop there regulary. I would avoid shoting Friday evenings and other really busy times. It's during that time that I have been muzzle flashed at least once, and did NOT like that. That being said, go there on a TUesday afternoon, and its golden. :D

Some ROs are better than others, but overall pretty good.

I like BVP too. The range is not as 'nice', but the prices are certainly better, and they run a tight ship (which I mean as a compliment). Bill's is just closer, so I go there more often.

No issues with buying, selling, trading tokens.. just don't go trying to mint your own :D

I'm a pretty frequent visitor to bill's, both in robinnsdale and in circle pines. I just bought 10 tokens (now down to 8) but in the future I would be interested in going halves on 20.

I guess I'll be picking up some tokens in the next couple of weeks then. I'll post again before I make a trip to the range and maybe we can meetup and shoot a bit. Always happy to let people plink with my pistols.
