I just saw the rerun of the pilot episode. Initially it struck me as a typical business reality show. Its about the business, not about guns. This one really bugs me due to the cash supposedly being thrown around. A helicopter? Really? And don't get me wrong, these superbuck rare guns are great, but its all we see.

The daughter will keep me watching though. Marketing win.

I miss Tales of the Gun on History Channel. :(

You can buy the entire collection of Tales of the Gun for like $50 now. I own the set, but have not watched them all yet. I did watch the original run, so I am not missing much.

Just got done watching the show and I do have to agree that it is little too fake and "jazzed up" for me to take it seriously and watch.

My dad watched it as well and he said he is thinking about adding a bookcase to his safe just like that Texas rancher guy as he owns similar style safe. Other than that, I didn't really get too much out of the show.

When it comes to blowing things up, the Mythbusters win, hands down. Shooting that bike was plain silly (like the rest of the show).
Btw... through the years I've always enjoyed their myths involving firearms and explosives.

Yep, Mythbusters PROVED that shooting a tank of gasoline (or propane for that matter) does NOT blow it up! On American Guns, if you watch closely when the bike goes up, you can see some sort of line running to the bike (det cord??) and a small fire just before it goes boom. All fake, fake, fake. And yeah, the rich rancher had some nice Winchesters but the show didn't spend nearly enough time showing them off! It is called "American" guns, right?

Yes, the show sucks. I'm pretty sure we can all agree to that. Even the 17 year old scantly clad floozie isn't enough to redeem it for me.

Bright side.... It isn't demonizing firearms and those who own them.

Yet.

True....and on the plus side, I did see the scantily clad Paris Hilton wannabe carrying her newly won AR with her trigger finger outside and along the trigger guard.

I watched that first episode and I thought it was plain as day but if you watch th father is holding a switch of some sort to trigger the explosion I assume. It seemed scripted witch I. Didn't like at all idk ill probably watch some more to see some cool guns that's about it. Oh and the prices in tat place must be outrageous. From that little contest they had between the son and daughter te son sold 3 guns and they weren't anything too special and said he sold 6 grand..

I agree! She is the eye candy this show needed... I like this show a lot more than Sons of Guns.
