you can find side-sheilds for your glasses, assuming they aren't small frame (sadly like mine) at any Pearle Vision or LensCrafters. don't call 'em shooting glasses, if you say "safety glasses" they'll have you squared away in no time. i'm in school to become a machinist, so that's one of the things on my list of must-haves

I work at Park Nicollet Optical. We carry Sport glasses and safety glasses.

If they are strictly "shooting" glasses, have the optical center of your lense put in the location on the lense where you look while sighting (the upper left portion of the right lense-right handed dominant eye). You only need to have the one lense ground this way. It will improve the sharpness of your sights greatly.

Look through the lense as if sighting down a rifle or handgun and they will mark the lense where to place the optical center.
Because I care, I carry.

I went to the Optometrist at Target with a template (a stick) with a movable pin (frontsight) setup for all of the different focal lengths needed for all of my rifles and pistols and we found a prescription in a sweet spot that covered all distances. I then went to zennioptical.com and orders a couple of pairs of sunglasses with integral lenses Dark for sunny days and yellow for overcast and indoors. The whole thing added about $75 to my normal annual visit and glasses order.

I've gotten my prescription locally (at Target) and then ordered what I wanted from framesdirect.com (Wiley for me) -- happy with pricing.

http://www.truespotscopes.com/

They make archery scopes but they have made shooting glasses for several of my friends. They have a full optical lab (that was his first career) and he does great work!

I should also mention I am a contractor who is very hard on his glasses. I buy 3-4 pair at a time from Zenni and have been very happy!

Iv,e been working with southwest eye care in Chaska,,I wear a Bifocal I used the close-up (or lower portion of the lense for Pistol) but didn,t like the way I had to tilt my head to see the sight,,So they reversed the lense and but the close up on top which let me see the sights ok but blurred the target badly,,next step was make a single vision pair with the right eye slightly stronger than the left ,i,m right handed but left eye dominent so I shoot both eyes open most of the time,,the idea is to see if I can average out my vision so i can see the front and rear sight clearly and still get a sharp target image,,hopefully I can get to the range this holiday weekend

I have got several pairs of glasses from Zenni Optical. Their glasses are very affordable and functional. Has anyone ever tried their sunglasses? I’m planning to order a pair of sunglasses with pink tint from them for shooting.

I switched to contacts with safety glasses.

FWIW, it really seemed to help. YMMV
