Ramsey is also EXTREMELY inefficient in processing permits. While most counties show a surplus, Ramsey is spending twice as much as they take in. When you add wages and benefits, they're spending $129,000. That's what...about 2.0 full time equivalents? So two people processing 643 permit apps comes to about 1.23 permits per 8 hour shift, or 6.5 hours per permit. I suppose when you consider how hard they look for reasons to deny, you could expect that sort of effort.
It looks like the fine folks in Ramsey should look at a change at the top in order to get a more efficient Sheriff's office. Just my observation.
And then you have Lake County which spent almost 3 times the amount they took in. They didn't claim any labor, but they did claim $4500 in furniture. All to process 26 permits.
