Considering the weight and MV of the projectile, that is one helluva good brake! Frankly, I think the gun could perform even better if it had a 22" barrel, and let's face it - there is no such thing as Close Quarters Combat with a dinosaur or a Cape Buffalo. Interesting choice of brass, and I wonder why they just didn't use the 700 N.E. brass to begin with? Obviously, 50BMG brass is way cheaper, which might have had a lot to do with it, but it could also be because of the pressure rating of the brass. 700 NE brass is rated at 40,000 PSI, and the 50 BMG is rated at 54,000 PSI. Between the cost and pressure features, the 50 BMG would be heavily favored. Wonder what they could do with some jacketed bullets, or better yet, some Barnes solids?

They should just machine their bullets out of copper stock, that would be awesome.

I was wondering that as well. When you look at the two side by side, there's not much difference in size.
According to Wikipedia (whatever, I guess I'll take their word) a single loaded .700 cartridge goes for around $100 !?!?!
Maybe that should be called the WTF.
How can one bullet be that expensive? I can't imagine it would cost that much to make. Why wouldn't some smaller company turn them out for half that? You'd think they would kinda corner the market on that caliber.

That would be (explicative) AWESOME!

I can only hope I get the chance to shoot some monster caliber gun like that some day.

Wow, the kick was rather mild looking, I've seen 12 gauges buck guys harder than that. I wonder how well that would work for the zombie apocalypse?

To be precise, that's a spelling mistake, not a grammer mistake! :stirthepot:

Okay, here's the link for 700 NE ammo: Relax guys, it's only 80 bucks a round!! So you could pay for nice reloading setup in 5 - 10 rounds. No wonder they used 50 BMG brass... Also note it's "only" a 1000 grain bullet doing 1900 FPS, so the ballistics for the 700 WTF are WAY hotter.

Also, here's a picture of a 700 NE round: Sadly, it's not battery operated...

Also, here is a rifle chambered for it. NOTE that is has NO MUZZLE BRAKE!!

OUCH!! :( :o  :?

Why not go with a 50BMG instead? More powerful and a hell of a lot cheaper
