May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

What about the guns? Didn't I hear you say that you lost them in a boating accident?

I say B as in B and S as in S. So I can go to Bills, write down every S/N, report them stolen, and claim all were cleverly fenced to Bills. Ppfffffftt!

Not only will it be a public record that you own the firearms, but people can look it over and check to make sure none of your property is stolen.

So step up to the plate and post your serial numbers! You're not paranoid are ya? :rotf:

I've posted dozens of pictures of my guns on this and many other forums, many of which show the serial numbers clearly visible. Doesn't worry me a bit.

Let me guess. That's the money you saved by using Geico? Right?

He has them covered so you can't tell and that is one time I understand not showing s/n's :?

As far as I can tell he's just another guy saying that it's dangerous without offering any evidence. Also, his assertion that you can reverse any blur in Photoshop is BS.

In general, I agree but blur can be removed within certain restrictions. If the file is exported to a jpg it cannot be removed. If it is kept in the software's native format (highly unlikely since it probably won't display in a browser) and that format retains the change history then it can be undone. I don't have experience with PS but this can work with other software.
IRT the OP, I would obscure the s/n and license number. I believe the odds of issues are low but it takes anout 10 seconds to do and its cheap insurance.

If it discourages even one customer from buying it because the serial number is displayed, it makes sense to cover it up. It only takes a few seconds and I am already resizing the photos so for me it's no big deal to slap a few brush strokes over it.
