How do we register a firearm in Minnesota? Is it even possible?

Don't listen to him. You have to turn over your gun and all purchasing document to an official registrant (such as myself) for processing and safety testing. Takes 5-10 years to complete, at which point your gun will be returned to you with no more than 5000 rounds through it for testing purposes. You'll be responsible for the registration fee and any ammunition costs from testing.

Of course. You don't have to pay for the ammo.

Depends. What are you actually asking about?

If you are talking about Class III then, yes you need to register them with the MN BCA within a certain time frame of acquisition. The info is on the BCA web site, I believe.

If you are talking about for taking them out of the country, for instance for a hunting trip to Canada, then you need to get a Customs form filled out. Call US customs at MSP and they can help you out. This is not really registration, but other countries consider it so (actually its just stating to customs that you owned it before you left and you cannot be forced to pay import duties). Then you need to fill out whatever forms the nation you are going want you to have.

Individual companies ask you to fill out the little warranty registration card, but it may not be required, and its not government info anyhow...
