Interesting that it only goes from 160ish to 130ish dB in noise.

Not enough to really be safe.

Yeah, but chicks dig them.

I have been told they also help some people with their shooting. It obviously cuts down on the sound and also the muzzle flip.

Is it worth the $1000+ initial investment? Then $200 for the ATF and barrels for other calibers? Is the average MGT'er going to pay those prices?

just thought of this...

How much of that dB noise of from the bullet being supersonic? And how much would using subsonic ammo make a difference.

I know working in target pits I still wear plugs because it's too flippin' loud when the bullet passes overhead

I dont know. I'm not going to bull **** anyone and tell them I want one to make shooting more pleasant for people around me or any of the other popular lies. I would buy one just to have one and be cool. I just dont think people have really looked into the investment of them. Not that it should matter, they should be legal. I just think a lot of people on the bandwagon are not being realistic about the issue.

It's been LOW on my radar for a while if I ever moved back to ND.

The 07 Allows you to manufacture certain items and I am not sure that license alone is going to cover Suppressors. You will also need an SOT.

Yes some have threaded barrels. CZ Kadet. Waiting for when fake can be replaced with real. Already great for steady longer range.

Good point, but are they that impressive without a gun to put them on? I read here that Obama was going to ban all guns next term?

SOT is either $5 or $7 for me IIRC.

Right now I'm on the fence about getting in bed with the ATF like that, so I haven't pursued it.

That's with super sonic rounds. The 9mm I shot was so quiet you could hear the bullet hit the berm. A 300 whisper or blackout would be the same when loaded subsonic. All you would hear is the bolt slapping back and forth and a little puff of gasses.

I have shot a P22 and a 10/22 with Cans, I have both of those with threaded bbl's so those would be first for me, I've also shot an M4 style AR with a can, no need for hearing protection, sounded like a mild 22LR, VERY cool.
