I had to ship a handgun back for some repair last summer. I went to the Fedex hub in White Bear Lake, the gun was a custom and I asked for $3,500.00 worth of insurance. Figuring between the ins and overnight the charges would be huge. The counter guy said nope they changed their policy and the gun can be shipped 2nd day. But because of the ins. Amount asked if he could confirm something was in the box. Just looked at the plastic gun box, didnt open to confirm pistol was in there. If I remember correctly saved me 50/60 dollars. I'm not saying that's their policy, that just happened that time.

I was wondering about FedEx and their stores' policy. Thanks for sharing.

Like UPS, most of the FedEx stores are privately owned.

Also of interest, many of you may know that I am a 1911 nut. When dealing either with Nighthawk or Ed Brown, they have always shipped me a box which I can then leave outside my door for the UPS guy to pick up. Never a hassle.

It's not a gun. It's simply a high speed lead distribution device.

Haven't shipped a gun in years. Machine parts, on the other hand, go out on a semi-regular basis. No probs, to date. :D
