Is Fleet Farm limited on the amount of ammo they can order? Like stated in this thread the Lakeville location's shelves are nearly empty. I haven't seen any Hornady critical defense ammo on the shelves in months nor have I seen any CCI minimags on the shelf, WWB is usually no problem in any caliber though.

The whole industry is having a hard time getting ammo, not just us. Some factories are better then others but thanks to a few factors, including hoarders preparing for the election, this is going to be a tough year for ammo. We will continue to always to our best to keep inventory levels as high as possible as priced competivily. I agree our prices on the common brands are about as low, or the lowest I have seen on any retail shelf. Sure there maybe an empty shelf here and there with a lower sticker, but in stock box for box I think we're doing pretty darn good.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

The prices are great Hornady Critical defense in .380 at FF is about $18 Gander across 35w the same ammo is $25. For the Speer gold dots FF is $17 Gander is $28.... I just wasn't sure if when you place an order that the vendor limits you on the amount you cant purchase, like at the liquor store I work at when certain products come out the vendor limits us to a certain number of cases i.e. Surly Darkness we can only get like 4-5 cases once it's gone it's gone

The only thing Gander can beat you on is their 250round bulk packs of blazer brass when they have it on sale for $89.99 it ends up being $17.99/50rounds. Anyway you guys could get in on that market?

In what caliber, we have everyday prices of 9mm, 40 lower then that with other brands that are higher quality the Blazer brass. I honestly can't remember what pricing is for 45 off hand if that's what you are referring to. For example, 9mm American Eagle is $11.88, other brands are usually $11.99/50.

I've been buying all of my 9mm at FF, and most of my .22 ammo.

Yep, haven’t seen any CCI Mini-Mags or .22 Blazers at the Brooklyn Park Fleet Farm for quite some time now. I think I got the last brick of Blazers about 2 months ago.
Was in yesterday and had to settle for a 525 bulk pack of Federal s and also noticed .38 special target ammo was out of stock. But their supply of .380 was pretty decent though.

BTW, I'd rather buy from Fleet Farm rather than Dick's or Wallyworld.

you think we're into election hoarders? Could it be the incredible surge in firearms popularity and ownership has more people than ever shooting? Heck, look at the numbers for USPSA / IDPA / Steel matches. they're UP and bringing in new people all the time.

Double the customer base with new and active people and your supply is going to get hit hard.

Now add politics and election cycles and hoarders and things get tight.

I can see hoarding and the comments PBlark made on popularity affecting the common stuff but the shelves are starting to look pretty bare on the hunting ammo side again. I really doubt many folks are hoarding .35 remington green box.

Maybe the factories are just not turning out hunting ammo until fall but it really seems like stuff is getting quite hard to find and there are many tagged spots on the shelves that continue to be empty for months at a time. If it is empty it means it does sell so while I can see the argument that some of this stuff just does not move unless it is 2 weeks before deer opener, I think one would find that if you kept stocked it would trickle out throughout the year. The shelf space is already dedicated to it so...

Yup, I do think we are into the hoarders already. That opinion comes from being at our stores and talking to staff, we have seen customers come in and literally wipe out a shelf of X Y or Z ammo. When asked about their purchase the comment of the elections, fears of price hikes and availability are the common responses. I do know the numbers are up in the shooting sports, I love it. I think shooting sports is a wonderful activity and wish more people would get involved. That being said, while I know the competitive shooting community is a core of the market, I am really interested to know how much they are. I haven't seen a lot or, any that I can immediately recall, of what percentage of gun/ammo buys are buying for just competition. Im sure a good share of buyers have considered competition but right now at handguns, I am seeing the most purchased by permit to carry holders, or for self defense as the main market.
