Thanks!

I did think about it. A couple of things are stopping me from doing it.

#1, if it's battery powered, I will forget to turn it off, and the batteries will repeatedly die. I will get tired of it and stop replacing them. If there is a cord, I have two kids and two dogs that will make short work of it.

#2, It actually looks pretty nice the way it is. The glass is big enough that it allows a lot of light in, and there is a light fixture directly above the table.

I will have to talk with Larry though, if I can get a few battery powered strips cheap enough, it might totally be worht it just to try.

Those LED's like Larry has last forever on very little power. A lot of guys using them in ice houses, and they have almost no draw at all.

You can also pick up an inverter to AC pretty cheap as well. I bet you could get all the stuff including an inverter for under $30 if you can solder.

And don't you love having a wife that steals your guns?

Good to know... I will certainly check into the LED if I want some lighting.

And yes. Having a wife that steals my guns is far better than having one that won't let me bring any home in the first place.

Should have "vintaged up" the top to match the bottom.

Maybe Fleet Farm could have some of these crates for sale.

I thought about it. I'm going to leave it like this for now, it can always be distressed later if I decide to go that route.

Wouldn't hurt to ask. They certainly sell enough Mosins.

I know I've dug through many single cardboard boxes of Mosins at Fleet farm, so Im not sure they get them with wooden crates. :(
