After much research :D :D :D :D

I found a law that was passed last year after a woman was attacked and killed in st paul by some dogs while riding her bike. Now seeing as it may just be a dog This law would apply :o :o

2007 Minnesota Statutes

347.17 KILLING DOGS IN CERTAIN CASES.
Any person may kill any dog that the person knows is affected with the disease known as
hydrophobia, or that may suddenly attack while the person is peacefully walking or riding and
while being out of the enclosure of its owner or keeper
, and may kill any dog found killing,
wounding, or worrying any horses, cattle, sheep, lambs, or other domestic animals.
History: (7297-49) 1939 c 410 s 9; 1986 c 444

The law was worked into a a law already out there but non the less it is very clear in its wording. So under this law if it came in your yard and comes towards you looking to attack you kill it legally. Of course after discharging your fire arm reholster and contact the Authorities and tell them what happened. As as you believed it was a dog and was so imformed that there were no coyotes only dogs in your area you believed it to be true :o
Really i am your worst Nightmare, for i walk the night and the cover of darkness belongs to me :D

You cant make a pile of Dog shat smell like a rose a bunch of Roses, so why try ???

This State law is great, however, whether dog or Coyote, I will bet that the city will push for discharging a firearm, reckless endangerment, and probably a few others.....................

not sure they could make terroristic threats stick................. :D

Yes they may push for reckless discharge but you were doing it in self defense :o :o And after all of the aounts of dogs killing humans it is easily justified :D

Ms. Nelson,
Thanks again for your concern about keeping our community safe.
As you notice from the cc: list on this E-mail, I am keeping the Manager informed about our correspondence along with the supervisor of Park Maintenance and the Animal Control Officer.
As I stated before, we as the City have not received any reports of attacks on domestic pets or humans in our City.
The coyote is also a an animal that is difficult to trap or otherwise capture for the purpose of relocation. We have been very reluctant to hunt predators because of the obvious dangers present in an urban setting. The one exception to that has been the thinning of the deer population, which we are able to do safely by putting up bait sites and using trained police sharpshooters at specific locations. (We will shoot things that bother peoples' gardens, but not that pose a threat to people themselves? ed) Since we do not have the same level of information about coyotes as we do about deer, this method is not a viable option at this time for the coyote.
We will monitor the coyote population as best we can, using citizen sightings and other evidence, such as deer and other wildlife kills in the non residential areas, to keep on top of this issue.
Thanks for writing.

For those not inclined to throw load, how do you think a wrist rocket would work?

Maybe not so much on the wrist rocket, but have you considered just getting one of these?
