The reason to legalize it is because making it illegal does nothing to stop the use of the stuff anyway. You had to be 21 for booze and smokes in my day, and dope was a lot more illegal then. I don't think if it was legal we'd have used any more or less of it. And yeah, it's killed some friend early. But the money spent on law enforcement didn't help. It's kind of like gun control. That costs a lot, and doesn't reduce crime.

Forget about chemicals, advise against their use, it won't make a difference. If you don't want to be all messed up, don't do it maybe? Just like we do already.

"Dope" is a no no, because our current health system then, unjustly, places the costs onto the rest of society but you don't do the same when ingesting daddy government approved drugs like alcohol and tobacco?

Dante, my friend, I've reached my daily limit of hypocrisy already today. Prohibition didn't work for alcohol please stop thinking it will ever work for any other "illicit" substance because it simply doesn't. It's an excuse for the agencies to have their tanks and big guns piloted by bloused boots thugs come on now.

Again, I don't believe I ever stated that anything should be prohibited, nor should it only be what I approve of, I only contended that there was a "victim" in your victimless scenario.

Let's agree to disagree and move on.

Nothing like a good debate over personal responsibility, personal rights, limiting government rights, liberatarianism, self determinism, yadda yadda yadda.

I guess its good practice for arguing in real life. What am I saying, this is the Interwebz baby, Its all real up in here!

Would anyone like to take a stab at a summary of what we have learned?

Oh! Oh! Pick me!

1. DNR is a racketeering gang that profits off stolen goods
2. Government is bad, mmkay?
3. Umm, drugs are bad, mmkay?
4. No victim, no crime (REAL victim)

Does that about sum it up?
