Hmm I think that could be a very good idea.

I am thinking something along the lines of a freely available pdf file that shows many of the common things that one does at the range, and how to do them properly. Like a step by step guide with illustration and a bit of text.

You guys are far nicer than I would be. It sounds like you are both club members, and they are breaking club rules. They need to be politely but firmly corrected, and when you leave instead, they get in an\other day of bad habits unchallenged, further cementing not only those habits but their belief that they are doing just fine.

Make the correction. Safety is too important to be ignored out of politeness or a desire to avoid confrontation.

Teaching moments? Give me a break! In the late summer of 2006 at a private club DonL belongs to. I was on the range with a friend. We were there first, and there for controlled the firing line meaning at what distance we were shooting from. Well, two of the permit to carry instructors (one ,who had more patches on his shooting shirt then Carter has little liver pills, and they were all NRA this or that!). Started to violate the firing line to suit his needs! This struck me as bad, as I turned around the other so called instructor had two more students at the 50yd line handling weapons behind the firing line! This was a problem in the making! I packed up and left! This of course is repated time and time again. One dufuss last fall put a loaded mini 14 in the rack. I asked him to step away from the bench, and looked at me strange! Private clubs are just as bad as any public range, except that at least at the public range there should be a range officer with some common sense!

+1 *We all* end up getting a bad rep when careless shootings occur. Safety should always come first.

I agree, I'm a retired Army Combat Medic and probably more "hard line" than most, but being polite never saved anyone.

First firearm I bought was right after I finished my CCW class in Colorado. I went to the shop, asked to see a charter arms/bulldog .44 special from the case. The clerk kept pointing it at me and my little boy...I think he was 4 years old at the time. I finally told my little guy "you see that brick wall right there?" He said yeah and I said "go stand on the other side of that wall and stay there!"

The clerk looked at me like I was a nut so I told him he needed to take the class and learn proper gun handling procedure. He said "I've been meaning to take the class, guess I should sign up for it". I bought that gun...got it for a really decent price!

Anything to get it out of his dangerous hands, huh? You're a humanitarian! :)

I try. I figured if I didn't buy it, I would have to ask to see another one and worry about that one being pointed at me too! :D

It's actually, exactly what I wanted. I researched and found that calibur to have among the top 1 shot stop/kill ratio for handguns.

I've since bought a Ruger P345, an astra 9mm, astra .25 ACP, and have had a Glock 30 given to me as a birthday present.

Nice choice on the 345. I really like mine. :D IIRC, gunshop guy has one as well.

I switch between the Ruger and the Glock as my choices for carry. I wear the ruger to work (small of back) and I wear the Glock on the weekends (right side).

If I'm wearing an outfit that can't accomodate the weight of the .45, I will carry the .25
