Thanks for the update Don! Please keep is posted on this, seeing as you have good first hand knowledge of the situation.

Glad everyone is OK, and I hope the damage is minimal.

I have really enjoyed shooting at BPR. It's a nice place to shoot and the staff is friendly. Too bad for this to happen to good folks who run a nice business. I hope that their insurance works out and covers cost of the repairs and the downtime. Maybe they can make the best of it!

I talked with Sue last night. They're going to be back better than ever.

They will be updating daily progress on their voice message.

Some folks have asked about the Winter League at BPR, and if we'll still have it. The best I can answer now is, probably.

I spoke with Roger and Sue last Wednesday, and was told they still plan on re-opening, but since they're waiting on other people before any work or decisions can be made, they have no idea when. (They both seemed frustrated that they have to wait on "others"!) The earliest they can guess (and that's it -- a guess only), would be October.

I've picked the match dates for the season, but until we get more info from them, no dates are firmed up.

Check their web site for updates; Sue said she'd keep the latest info current on it: http://www.bvpistol.com/

And cross your fingers...

I think it's great that so many people are pitching in to help. It's a good range, and those are few and far between.

Quite a few years back, when I was but a humble Fire Captain, I responded to a fire in the rural reaches of our service area. It was an indoor shooting range, and one of my more memorable fires. As I hit the ground and tried to decide what to do first, the sound of all those rounds cooking off was un-freeking-believable. It was like being inside a big popcorn machine, and it didn't stop for probably an hour! Fragments were bouncing off our turnout gear every time we tried to get close enough.

The owner rebuilt and resumed operation - just like I hope BPR will do.
