Yea, the cabin a couple hundred acres away, jk. I'm also assuming you were firing bird cartridges....

Anyways, I'm not sure how he could identify the cartridges being used by those photos. Some rounds shoot farther than others. Firing a pistol in the air at the right arch could absolutely hit a structure a ways away. The Jamestown ND police dept. had their range shut down for that exact reason. I'm sure you guys were bird shot cartridges though, looks fun.

Cartridges? Definately not. Gun? quite possibly. Either way, he could have asked what we were shooting before spouting off condemnation....... just sayin'. It's fun to see folks get all worked up over false assumptions though.

Good point, but anyone who isn't aware of this shouldn't be shooting guns to begin with.
If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.

.410 shells?

As Holland&Holland would say, something like "first mistake was posting something like this on the interwebs and not expecting to get flamed!". I know he's had to tell me something like that more than once

Mistake? Nah.......

Expecting to get flamed? Hell... I was counting on it.

Yep. .410 shotshells through a Taurus Judge. Now the game will be to see how many people neglect to read this, and carry on with the condemnation.

You assume everyone else knows what you're up to - you think gun guys are the only ones who read this stuff?

No mention of shot shells = someone somewhere getting the wrong idea.

I've never seen a judge with that long of barrel, so yeah, I did get the wrong impression. Sue me. 8-)

Your post makes absolutly no sense. That is like saying you saw someone shooting trap with a shotgun and assumed they were using slugs. Of course if one is shooting clays out of the air they are going to be using shot. Heck you can get shot for several common revolver chamberings including .22s. To assume someone is doing something dangerous without asking a couple questions first is just plain rude. When have I ever indicated that safety is not my number one focus every time I hit the range or field? If you saw a picture of a person driving a car would you assume they were driving drunk?

And I am sorry, if you are not familiar with your gun models to the point that you did not know about the 6 inch Judge model, then I think you have lost the privilage of calling yourself a gun guy until you can study up and retake the test.

A gun nut out.

I don't follow taurus - I owned one once, and rectified that mistake. I can't tell you what variants a prius comes in either - that must negate my 20 years automotive experience too?

Pointing a revolver in the air on a public forum and not explicitly stating you're using shot shells is dangerous. That's my objection. You talk mighty high of yourself, yet I have a feeling you know you were wrong here.

Not asking pertinent questions before making serious accusations on a public forum is dangerous. You talk mighty high of yourself, but I think you know you were in the wrong here.

"What were you shooting?". Is a simple question that could have saved you the backpedaling you're doing now due to your hasty assumptions.

I talk highly of myself? What? So there was a picture posted of me doing a legal activity in a safe manner and somehow I am in the wrong? What?

Just because you are embarrassed that you jumped to conclusions and showed your lack of knowledge, does not mean you need to try and degrade my character.

You fired a weapon capable of shooting single projectile ammo into the air, then posted it on the web. I have nothing to be ashamed of for what I've said about that.

Shotguns are capable of firing single projectile ammo. Based on your logic, you would have the same objection if it was one of those used in the picture?

As everyone who ever picks up a shotgun has done. Admit it, open mouth, insert foot, lack of gun knowledge evident.

To be honest I really can't take credit for the idea. Several gun shows on TELEVISION and in print media have done the same thing. I would like to think I do actually have more followers than Guns and Ammo, but I will leave that to my fans to argue.
