Try http://docs.google.com/ You should be able to upload and share it there. It's pretty cool :)

Otherwise I think you should be able to upload the file as an attachment on the forum and people can download it and do what they will with it.

Cool - thanks Ron, that's a lot of work - I was trying to get the data out of Google, but they don't make it easy. It would be good to get it into a format that could be loaded into a GPS (you know, the ones that will soon be on our guns), so that we could use that as a "point of interest" map while we drive. My wife will love it

I have been doing some research and have created a spread sheet in Excel containing 225 gun shops. It can be sorted by name, city or zip code and then printed and carried in our vehicles as we transverse the state looking for "good deals". This is also meant to be an aid to John as he updates his map.

I know there are errors, omissions and possibly duplications so am depending on our forum members to help us with this project. I see it as an ongoing project as new shops appear, while sadly others disappear.

What is the best way to share this with everyone? I would like to make it available as an attachment so users can sort it to their requirements and also make corrections. I am open to suggestions.

You should find two attachments: Gun Shops-Name (sorted by name) and Gun Shops-City (sorted by city). Please provide feed back so I can update the info. - Ron

Here are some gun shops in Bemidji, I recommend them both highly, instead of GM or the other ones listed in Bemidji.

R&R Arms Inc
25323 Beltrami Line Rd
Bemidji MN 56601
http://www.rrarms.com/

Bluewater Bait & Sports
801 Washington Ave SE
Bemidji, MN 56601
http://www.bluewater-bait.com/
218-444-2248

There's probably a couple more that I'm forgetting, I'll add them as they come to mind.

FM area:

Scheels in Moorhead doesn't sell guns or ammo.

gander

As far as I know, there aren't any gun shops in Moorhead, which really sucks because as a MN resident I can't purchase a handgun in Fargo.

KJERGAARD SPORTS
1951 200th Ave
Lake Benton, MN 56149
Phone: 507-368-4696

Also has gunsmithing and repair facilities. They do a very good open day with lots of vendors in July every year. $20 transfer fees for internet purchases and good (but not as good as Walmart) prices on Ammo, with case discounts available.

John,

That data twisting stuff is a lot of what I do at work. I'd be happy to help out in creating an app that would automatically regenerate Google Maps, Garmin, TomTom files, etc, on the fly.

Let me know.

Oh, and it's not the most complete, but here's a national resource:

Oh, well, it turns out that John left some time ago, and I forgot.

It's still a good idea, though. :)
